Summer Camps
Summer day camps can be educational as well as fun. They’re a great way for students to pick up a new skill, polish an existing one, or prepare for the upcoming school year.
Raleigh Tutoring offers dozens of fun, enriching and educational camps. We’re excited to partner with local schools to provide camps for grades K-12. Taught by our excellent Raleigh Tutoring instructors, our camps are sure to provide both summer fun and opportunities to grow and learn.

Make your Own Game Show
Make your own game show! - Learn about math by playing games, and use that knowledge to make your own! Talk about how and why people make decisions, as well as how to structure an exciting performance. Learn the principles of game theory and how math works for common game show games.

Chemistry of Slime
Slime Science - make a different kind of slime every day and learn how it all comes together! Kids will learn about the scientific method and be introduced to concepts in chemistry while engaging in hands-on slime crafting. They’ll make notebooks of slime recipes and take home the slime that they make. We’ll talk about what ingredients alter what properties of the final slime, and let them get creative!

Messy Masterpieces
All art worth keeping and sharing is messy! In this camp, kids will create works of art with glue, paint, watercolors, paper, glitter, yarn, recyclables and clay. Budding artists will complete projects based on great artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, and Matisse to take home each day as well as work on others that will be completed on the last day of camp. Examples of masterpieces include picture frames, clay pots, magnets, marble paintings, paper-mache bowls and much more.

Geometric Art (2-5)
Learn how to use a compass and straightedge to construct geometric shapes for art! Kids will learn principles of geometry and symmetry, then use those principles to create mixed media art pieces.

Please note that for the 6th-8th grade session they need to show maturity to use an Xacto Knife to participate in a Kirigami lesson in the camp.

Little Book Club
Be in a book club just like mom and dad! Dive into books and learn about story elements and connecting with characters. Become a young illustrator with engaging art projects to accompany the books. Develop a love of reading in your very own Little Book Club!

Messy Masterpieces

Candy Chemistry
Sweet! Candy is fun AND smart. Campers will perform sweet science experiments and learn concepts such as why sugar crystallizes to make rock candy, the chemistry behind gummy bears, how molding chocolate candies demonstrates the phases of matter, and much more. On the last day of camp, children will present their unique candy creations, “market” them to fellow campers, and get to take home not only their own candy but a bag filled with treats made by others!

Learning with Art
Have fun exploring colors, shapes, letters and numbers while stretching your imagination through art! With a theme-based approach and a focus on learning, this program will guide students in drawing, painting or sculpting a new project each day. A variety of different mediums will be used- pencils, chalk, watercolors, clay, acrylic paints and more. Examples of projects include self-portraits and fingerprint study, clay pinch pots, habitats and animal masks and picture book creations.

Smash It Sink It Crash It
It's one thing to build something and completely another to dismantle it. In this high-energy camp students will have fun seeing things come apart! Using everyday objects they will create and build rockets, submarines, kites and more. At the end of each day, they test and destroy their creations. Campers leave each day with something they created along with directions on how to replicate the same creation at home using items you find in drawers and cupboards. Breaking stuff is fun but learning how to rebuild it fosters creativity, tenacity and problem solving.

Math Magicians
Abracadabra....amaze your friends, family, and teachers with your math knowledge and cool tricks. Let’s turn math into entertainment! Brush up on math concepts you have already studied throughout the year including addition, subtraction, measurement, time, and geometry. Dazzle the audience with mastered math skills as you prepare for math class next year. Campers will participate in fun activities that reinforce and review the concepts of addition, subtraction, measurement, time, and geometry. We will integrate technology and hands-on activities that actively engage learners and encourage collaboration with peers!

Campers will make friendship bracelets and necklaces while learning about different styles of braiding, macrame, and beadwork.
